Delete your Orbit account
You can delete your Orbit account and all of the data backed up with it at any time. If you never created an account, nothing about you is stored in the cloud; uninstalling the app removes everything from your phone.
Delete it in the app
- Open Orbit and go to the Settings tab.
- Tap your email address under Account & backup.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm.
Your account is deleted immediately.
Can't use the app?
Email privacy@orbitnetwork.app from the email address you signed up with, using the subject Delete my Orbit account. We will confirm the request and delete your account and data within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and email address
- All backed-up contacts and the details saved about them (including notes, kids and birthdays)
- Your reach-out history
- Your job applications
- Your reminder settings
What is kept, and for how long
- Copies may remain in our cloud provider's encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which they are overwritten.
- Standard server logs (such as IP addresses) are kept only briefly for security, then deleted automatically.
- Deleting your account does not remove the copy of your network on your phone, so you don't lose it by accident. Uninstall the app to remove it from the phone too.
If you connected Google Sheets, the "Orbit Job Tracker" spreadsheet is yours and stays in your Google Drive. Delete it there if you no longer want it.
Delete some data without deleting your account
- A contact: open the contact, tap the menu (⋮), then Remove from Orbit. Its details are erased from your phone and from the cloud.
- A logged reach-out: on the contact's page, swipe the entry left in History.
- Everything on one phone: sign out in Settings → Account & backup. Your network is removed from that phone and stays in your backup.
See our Privacy Policy for more about how Orbit handles data.
